Institute of Exact and Natural Sciences (ICEN / UFPA)

Laboratory of Statistics (LABEST) and Pedagogical Laboratory of Teaching, Pedagogical Teaching, Research and Extension (LAPEPE)

The Mathematics and Statistics Graduate Program has two laboratories: LAPEPE, currently coordinated by Professor Joelma Morbach, Professor of the Program and Computational Laboratory of Statistics (LABEST), which belongs to the Faculty of Statistics, which in partnership with PPGME, has purposes of computational support to teaching, research and learning in undergraduate and postgraduate.

LABEST and LAPEPE currently have a collection of an average of 30 computers each, which are very important for researchers and students of the Program, who use it for their research, scientific texts, reports, among others. others.

Such laboratories have several applications, among them, Word (standard) and Latex for text editing; MATLAB for visualization processes; C ++ and Visual FORTRAN for scientific programming, in addition to MATHEMATICA, MAPLE, Geogebra, among other software for algebraic manipulation and also numerical and visual. Computers are connected in a local area network and have internet access. Several free softwares are being used to lower the cost of implementation, such as Scilab, R-project, Biostat, Ox, among others, for Windows and Linux platforms.
